Gladys Valdez, Ph.D.

Director, Rater Training & Endpoint Surveillance

Dr. Gladys Valdez is a Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years of clinical and research experience, specializing in neuroscience and psychiatric disorders. Her expertise spans a wide range of conditions, including Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, anxiety disorders (OCD, social anxiety disorder, generalized anxiety disorder), mood disorders (major depressive disorder, postpartum depression, bipolar disorder), borderline personality disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, PTSD, substance use disorders, idiopathic hypersomnia, narcolepsy, chronic pain, and rare disease indications. 

At Premier Research, Dr. Valdez leads efforts in rater training and endpoint surveillance. Her clinical research expertise includes endpoint selection and validation, scale management, placebo response mitigation, pre-enrollment eligibility review, and protocol design and optimization. She is also deeply involved in patient-centered study design and implementation and regularly collaborates with key opinion leaders (KOLs). 

Dr. Valdez has published and presented widely on topics such as cognitive remediation in schizophrenia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, childhood trauma, and the cultural adaptation of empirically supported treatments. In addition to her research and clinical work, she teaches courses in Multicultural Psychotherapy, Introduction to Psychology, and Abnormal Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin.
