John Ratliff, MBA

Chief Executive Officer

As Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Ratliff is responsible for driving the strategy and vision of Premier Research. Motivated by our mission of bringing life-changing science to patients in need, he is dedicated to delivering an optimal customer and employee experience by fostering a high-achieving and innovative workplace.

Prior to joining Premier Research, Mr. Ratliff served as CEO of Curia, a leading global contract research, development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), offering products and services across the drug development spectrum. He was appointed Chairman of the Curia Board of Directors in January 2021.

Mr. Ratliff has previously served as Chief Executive Officer of LabCorp’s Drug Development business, Covance, and President as well as CEO of HUYA Bioscience International. His healthcare industry experience also includes almost 10 years at Quintiles (now IQVIA), the world’s largest provider of product development and integrated healthcare services, where he served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) before becoming President and Chief Operating Officer (COO). He served as a member of the Quintiles Board of Directors. Prior roles throughout his career included CFO at Acterna, a provider of communications test solutions for telecommunications and cable network operators, and positions of increasing responsibility during his 19-year tenure at IBM.

Mr. Ratliff holds a Bachelor of Science in industrial and systems engineering, highest honors, from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta and serves on the Georgia Tech Advisory Board of Directors. He received his MBA from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. John has served as Chairman of the Association of Clinical Research Organizations. In 2017, he was appointed to the Georgia Tech’s Academy of Distinguished Engineering Alumni.
